There was too much dialogue for the ending and too many "endings." It seemed like an ending would happen only to be followed by another time loop with another ending. I was expecting it to be the main characters or previous deponians out for revenge in that elephant suit, and I find the use of "aliens" to be a tired and unneeded device. It could have simply been older Goal trying to save Rufus from the fall that discovered the university of time manipulators that could have setup the entire thing. They were really "outside" the previous story lines, and time travel alone could have setup this story. The alien elephants seemed to be unneeded. It was fun to experience the breakup between Tony and Rufus, but a little weird since he seemed to be in love with Tony and Goal at the same time. Not easy to do, and the characters played out well.

Good work with making a prequel/postquel to the franchise. Bravo for letting the gamers finally visit this paradise.

I suppose it is metaphorical of how Rufus wanted to get there but never does, but it's a game and I wanted to see it. We finally got to see Elysium, which was the biggest let down of the previous games. I know when I saw the last dialogue options, I already knew the dialogue tree that would need to be followed. I will admit as soon as I finished the game, I looked for multiple endings because this game felt like there should have been choices that led to a different ending. This is kind of a jab at us players as we cannot "really" make choices for our characters as the story is prewritten and we simply play it out and follow along. When dealing with time, it is always difficult to keep everything straight.and I loved the deterministic time travel machine, which foreshadowed that everything had to go as it had already went.choice is an illusion. I was very entertained by the title, as it tied well with the previous games and kept a somewhat logical time travel game together.
